I asked chatGPT how to perform transcendental meditation

Having heard Rick Rubin on Bulletproof Radio talk about transcendental meditation (TM), and not knowing exactly what it means, I asked chatGPT:

Describe the steps to perform transcendental meditation

Answer: Transcendental meditation (TM) is a specific form of meditation that involves the use of a mantra, or word or phrase, to help the practitioner reach a state of deep relaxation and rest. Here are the steps for practicing TM:

Find a quiet place where you can sit comfortably and undisturbed for about 15-20 minutes.

Sit with your back straight and your eyes closed. You can use a chair, cushion, or mat.

Take a few deep breaths to relax and calm your mind.

Choose a mantra that resonates with you. This could be a word, phrase, or sound that has personal meaning to you. The mantra is not meant to have any specific meaning, but rather to serve as a focus for your attention.

Begin repeating the mantra to yourself, silently in your mind. If you get distracted by other thoughts, gently bring your focus back to the mantra.

Continue repeating the mantra for about 15-20 minutes. It is important to try to stay relaxed and not force anything. Just let the mantra do the work.

When the meditation is finished, slowly open your eyes and take a moment to adjust to your surroundings before getting up and going about your day.

I'm not particulary satisfied with the answer, but it looks like the basic steps are there, yet it did not fully explain why it's called trancendental.
